COACHES

Responsibilities as a coach:
                    a) provide a safe physical environment,
                    b) be an effective and positive communicator,
                    c) be able to teach the skills and rules of the sport
                    d) be a positive role model.

You will need to have a comprehension of the rules and knowledge of the game. Dexter Parks and Recreation wants to provide everyone with an enjoyable experience, and we want to develop players' fundamental skills, and to get them to perform to the best of their ability.  Coaching can be a very rewarding experience. But it is very important that all coaches keep a proper perspective. Dexter Parks and Recreation Coaches are not to have a "win-at-all-cost"  goal. The primary goal is to teach and develop in a very fun atmosphere. Please realize that all of the coaches for Dexter Parks and Recreation volunteer their time to the youth of the programs.

General Organization Rules: All teams will be organized by the rules set forth by the Park Board. Brothers/Sisters who fall into the same age group may, upon request at the time of registration, have their forms submitted together and be placed on the same team. It is the parent or guardian's responsibility to notify the Park Department of their desire for the children to be placed on the same team. Special request for youth that are not brother and sister to be on the same team will not be allowed. If you have any questions or concerns about any youth sport please contact the Park office (573-624-8244) for further information. All youth sports will have a sign-up deadline. The park department reserved the right to refuse any sign-up received after the deadline. There will be no waiting list made for those participants wanting to participate after the deadline. Teams will be drafted by luck of the draw. All teams will be re-drafted each year with the exception of little league football.

Program Changes: Dates of programs are subject to change due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. All rental fees and sign-up fees are subject to change.

Program Cancellation Policy: Decisions on the cancellations of evening activities due to inclement weather will be made by 3:30pm daily. The local radio station (KDEX 102.3 FM) will be notified of those decisions.  Please do not call the radio station.  The information will also be posted on FACEBOOK, which can be linked from the website.

You do not have to have a FACEBOOK account to see the information, but if you have one, add us as a friend to get Status Updates as they are posted. We recognize the possibility that a sudden weather change could create a situation in which a program might have been possible, but the importance of early and accurate communication outweighs that chance. All programs are subject to immediate cancellation if the weather changes after the 3:30pm decision

Sponsorship for all team sports available. Sponsorship is simply advertisement. It is your logo on the team shirts.
The cost of the sponsorship depends on the sport due to the number on each team.
Being a sponsor does not allow you any special privileges to coach, or any control over the team, it is simply advertisement.
